Guess What!

Skinny doesn't mean 'In Shape' as I found tonight when struggling through my first Pilates class in 2 months!  Ok... It was probably closer to 3 months but still I was DYING!  As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure the entire class heard each time my ABS gave out when I would hit the ground during my roll downs.  And for the record, the roll ups weren't pretty either.

Abs at home. Yes please!Oh and there is also the wonderful little detail that the instructor knows me ... by name ... may even read this BLOG and caught me every time I was cheating AND CALLED ME OUT!  Now I only cheated b/c I couldn't hold the pose or move slow enough to hit the 8 count but what counts is I got my booty to the gym and suffered through an hour long of AB torture!

Let's be honest though... I love it!  I love the burn.  I love the torture.  I love feeling like I'm going to give up b/c in the end I made it through the entire class and it will pay off!  I also love that the class started at 7p and I was energized and ready to go (even after this dreary day)!  And I love that my healthier insides are going to match a healthier outside!

So what will tomorrow bring... I'm not quite sure yet but I'm pretty sure I might not be able to move by day two.  What will your tomorrow bring?

When EVERY day is a SKINNY day!

I never thought I would say this but I'm having more 'skinny' days than 'fat' days lately!  I even attempted THE jeans!  You know... the ones you keep just hoping you can fit into only to try them on on a 'skinny' day to feel FAT again b/c you're not quite back to the 'skinny' needed to fit into those jeans.  Well attempt one at THE jeans and I looked and felt SKINNY still!  Me - 1 ... Fatness - 0!

But honestly, it's an amazing feeling to not only feel great but start to notice a difference in the way clothes fit.  Not that I'm going out too much these days (stay at home mom + 19 month old = NO social life) but I'm not finding myself standing in front of my closet wondering which shirt will best hide my LOVE handles.  Let's BE HONEST... no one likes to see muffin top unless it's in the bakery case at Panera.

And here we are Monday night and even though I felt a little crappy this morning (I think it might have been the crap that I ate for the Super Bowl) I made it to the gym and wore spandex!  I didn't even feel the need to suck it in b/c ... ITS A SKINNY DAY!

So it really is time for me to give credit to where credit is due.  I had indicated that I started taking a supplement called Zija and I'm hooked.  Between the energy and the effortless weight loss, I couldn't be happier!  I have energy without the jitters!  I'm not even craving sweets!  I'm even making great nutritional choices b/c I'm not snacking or filling up with empty calories!  I'm not even getting migraines b/c I haven't eaten at the right times or had multiple cups of caffeine!  It's a nice change from the other stuff I've tried.  Now I'm only down 6lbs (not even half way to the 20 I wanted to lose) but I'm energized and I can see the goal line!  BUT just for the record... I'm only 5'2" and 5 lbs is huge when you're that short!

Oh... and because it doesn't feel like such a chore to go to the gym any longer I've signed up for TRX and I'm pretty sure I'm nuts.  The body I've always wanted is closer than ever now!

A Spring in My Step

Words could not express what an amazing mood I've been in!  This is despite the few nights this week of interrupted sleep by my 19 month old.  Is it the new way of life or was it the Indian Summer we experienced this week?  Not sure but I'll take it.  There is nothing better than feeling energized.... ok being energized and thinner is pretty darn awesome too!

Now I wish I could give you some numbers but I feel it's a sin to keep a scale in the house and I won't be weighing myself till tomorrow at the gym.  I didn't make it in this week b/c well... I GOT OUT!  The weather was so amazing in the CLE that I almost forgot how amazing just a walk can make you feel.  And you know what's even more awesome besides the walking buddies I had?  Feeling the oxygen really circulate through my body.  One of the best ways to get the most out of any workout is to have oxygen really moving through your muscles!  Working out seems to be so much easier when you feel good.  I used to say... I love going to the gym but getting there was like pulling teeth!  Now I have so much energy I want to go go go... provided my child didn't keep me up all night but even then... I don't require as much to bounce back!
Look my face is thinner!

Disclaimer: As I stated before... you do need sleep.  It does contribute to those extra pounds.  I do get tired BUT I'm not tired ALL the time like I was before.  That's the difference!

So I'm hoping for at least one day a week of warm sunshine but that stupid groundhog decided to see his shadow.  Really?  I think it's a conspiracy!  Snow shoes anyone?

But seriously, walking isn't just for the 'retired' at the mall... (I was going to say old but you're only as old as you feel.  Prior to my commitment to change I was 87)  It's a great way to get back into it or to change up your normal routine.  Plus in addition to what you're putting in your body, it will create that extra shot of energy that you need!  There is no excuse!  You can make time to do a 20 minute walk!  Who's with me?

PS... Photo taken today after my 12 hr school day+ one A&P2 Exam - where are my bags? I sent them packin!
